SBS18 Challenge #12 Anniversaries
Here's my DT effort for this weeks SBS18 challenge which is to make a card for an Anniversary. I'm rather pleased with the results, used some backing paper, a Sarah Kay image, layered onto two different pieces, all cut with nesties (of course), some SU ribbon and hodge podge hardware and a stamped message and flower and brad.

What a fun day we've had!!!
I just wanted to do a post, but don't have any cards to show you today, so thought I'd show you what we've been up to!
My two little monkeys have been playing starfish today ...
... and I've been spending !!! - that's what the rain does for you, I'm afraid!!! I just couldn't help myself - my little girl has been needing a wardrobe for ages, so I've ordered her one, my little boy needs some toy storage for his bedroom, so I've ordered that too, and I couldn't go without, could I (??!!) so I found a really great place to buy stamps and stuff, and ordered some new PB stamps, including ladies divine (saw jacqui use it and just had to buy it), beach girl, hangin' out kids and some others, some gorgeous gelatin gems - the pic looks great, anyway ...
and some prima flowers and bits and pieces in a tin ...
... now I just can't wait until it all arrives!!! I'm so excited!!!

Sarah Kay Challenges *Week 4* Scallop Sketch
Here's my take on this weeks Sarah Kay sketch challenge. Dug out some paper that I've had lying about unused for ages, made an effort to use an embossing folder that I don't think I've tried before, used my FAVE nesties (again !!!), along with an image that was sent to me by Vicky (thanks again!), coloured with my prismacolour pencils. As you can see (I hope), I put the blue floral paper on the inside of the card, and the 3 scalloped circles are the right hand side of the card, so it opens from the 3 circles, if you know what I mean!?! There is probably a proper "term" for this type of card, but I don't know what it is!! Any clues??
Just thought I'd include this quick pic of my daughters "copy" of my ATC that I made for the SBS18 challenge last week - she was desperate to have a go, and I think she did a really good job!!!

Penny Black Challenge 7 - Down On The Farm
I made this card for the Down On The Farm challenge on Penny Black blog. I don't have anything by PB that is obviously "farmy" so I went for a hedgie - these are found on farms!!!
I used my big shot and a texture plate to do the pearly backing paper, and the sizzix corner die, along with some buttons and a simple greeting message. Fairly quick and simple - am pushed for time again today!!
Another Award!
Thanks so much to Dawn for this lovely award!
It's the Wylde Women Award and the rules are:
1. You can give it to one or one hundred or any number in between - it's up to you. Make sure you link to their site in your post.

Now, to the list of who I am passing this on to .. I'm going to keep this fairly short, and send it to two new blogging friends that give me constant inspiration and help to me with my new (ish) blog, and for always leaving lovely comments!!

Tilda & Co Challenge ~*~ 29~*~ It's a Bugs Life!
This card has been made for the Tilda & Co challenge which this week is "It's a Bugs Life!". I also had to make a thanks for lending me your book card, so thought I'd combine the two, seeing as though I'd bought 2 new stamps especially!! Again, very simple - used paper from stash that I've been meaning to use for ages but it just sits there doing nothing ... and my new stamps, watercoloured, along with a bug - just for the challenge!! and a SU stamped greeting. Very simple, but it fits the bill(s)!!

Good Luck card
I've made this "Z" fold card using a cow stamp, some SU stamps - the greeting and the circley background, some cardstock, and a couple of brads. I've made it for two reasons - one is for Heather - her good-bye card challenge for some great candy, http://hksginger.blogspot.com/ and the other reason is for a friend who wants ideas to make a card with cows on it at my craft workshop tomorrow night! So I've combined the two, and this is what I've come up with!

Polka Dots & Paisley card SC185
This card was made using Stampin' Up supplies: taken with teal and so saffron carstock, more mustard ribbon - not sure if this goes, but it's all that I had, I used my circle punch to make the corner cut-outs, and put the eyelets in with my crop-a-dile. I stamped the polka dots pattern all over the teal cardstock with the help of my stamp a ma jig, and stamped the so saffron with the floral design in teal ink, as well as the happy greeting. Fairly quick and simple!

Here's my entry for this weeks tilda & co challenge which was to make a distressed tilda! I used tilda with the wall stamp, watercoloured, with vellum, papermania paper (again - am trying to use it!!) and black paper with brads, stamped greeting and punched flowers. Is she looking distressed enough??!!

Penny Black Challenge 5 - Sketch
I seem to have done two cards for this challenge - I really am having a daft week!! But I love doing baby cards, and couldn't resist the temptation to get this stamp out again! I used cardstock from my stash, a penny black stamp, watercoloured with distressed edges.
Cute Card Thursday Challenge 19
All my good intentions of coming home and tidying the house, etc etc went straight out of the window when I saw this weeks challenge. I headed straight off to make this card! Using some paper that I've had for ages, hardly ever been used, and my trusty woodware stamp set (probably one I've used more than any of the others - so that makes it more than twice!!! hee hee), my marvy and tombow pens to colour the image, a stamped tag (another fave) and a brad - but not sure about that.

Penny Black Challenge 5 - Sketch
This card has been made for the Penny Black Challenge, which this week is to use a sketch (on their blog). I used the Simply Elegant papers, along with the stamped image from PB with chalked edges, a sizzix corner covered in dazzling diamonds (SU) and a flower from Flora Doodles, which are absolutely gorgeous! (I got them from Joanna Sheen).

I've got some new Sarah Kay images!
I was so pleased when I got the post this morning - Nicola, at My Paper World has kindly sent me some of the lovely Sarah Kay images (she's so lucky to have all those stamps), so I couldn't resist but to get colouring in some of the images (and use my fave nesties), and this is just a quick card i came up with. I wanted to keep it quite simple, just can't wait to use all of the others. Thanks so much, Nicola!!!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 18
Here's my entry for this weeks Cute Card Thursday. It's supposed to be "A Card for a Child", I pinched my 5 year olds stamp set for this one, and I think it could be sent to a girl aged between 5 and 10?? anyway, tried to make it all sparkly and girly, using sakura pens to colour the image, some gems, buttons, sparkly and handmade papers, and some of that stuff you knit with - can't think of the name right now. (stupid brain - does that sometimes!!).
hope you like it!

ABC Challenge - B is for Baby
These cards have been made for the ABC challenge this week, whose theme was to make a piece for baby arrival. There's just something really nice about making new baby cards - I love doing them, that's why I did two (couldn't decide whether to go for a girl or boy!)
I made these two using a paper pizazz paperstack, with some clearstamps messages and various embellishments. Again, the photo hasn't come out too well - too bright, or something!

Papertake Weekly Katharina's Sketch #6
I've made this card for the challenge, but am not entirely happy with the end result. The colours haven't come out very well in the photo, either. Made using floral paper, penny black stamp coloured with watercolour pencils, my (excellent) nestabilities and a tag, stamped with hero arts stamp and brads.

Tilda & Co "~*~ 27 ~*~ Thinking of Others
I really enjoyed making this "box in a bag" with shrink plastic tilda and some ribbons, jems and tag. I was following instructions, but I didn't have the cutter for the tag thing at the top, so this is made "freehand" so to speak!!
My daughter is going to give it to her teacher at the end of term, and we'll probably fill it with some sweets or something for her.

Sketch Saturday #6
I absolutely loved doing this sketch - it gave me the best reason to use my new nestabilities, my new download from pink petticoat, and my new cuttlebug embossing folder. Ok, so I've had them a while, but they're fairly new !!! Put all that with some SU cardstock, prima flowers, ribbons, jewels and some glitter glue for the lamb, and I'm so pleased with the results, hope you agree!

Tri-Fold Card Tutorial
I’ve had so many nice comments about my tri-fold card, that I’ve decided to do a little tutorial on how to make one, without having to buy or download a template, so here goes.
Start with a piece of A4 cardstock.
I have an envelope folder and board which has a groove at approx. 9.25 cm. Score across at this point, and then fold the card, and score another with the folded edge against the edge of the board (pic 1).
This will give you a card with two score lines at regular intervals. Fold the card as shown in pic 2.
You will then have a slight edge overlapping on the last piece – trim this off with a guillotine to make it fold neatly onto itself.
Next, I used my Creative Memories circle to cut from edge to score line on the first third, approx. 5.5” down from the top edge, do the same in the middle section approx. 3” down, from scoreline to scoreline, and then 1” down from score line to last edge on the last piece, as in pic 3. I guess a CD would make a nice curve, too, or anything round really!
Then using a ruler, cut down from the top edge to meet your semi-circle cuts (pic 4). Once you have done this on both vertical score lines, re-fold your card to have a tri-fold (pic 5).
Hope this makes sense!!! Let me know if you have any queries,
Jenny
