Cupcake Craft Challenge - Altered Item
This week over on
Cupcake Craft Challenges it's my turn to set the challenge, and I chose "altered item". I used a tea box and some cardboard tubes to make a pen storage box. I've been storing my pens in a pot, but have noticed a lot of other people recently saying that they should be stored horizontally, not vertically, so I came up with this idea!
I covered the box and rolls with some wallpaper that I picked up from some random harware store, and thought it would make a nice covering for this box!

Basic Grey & Sketch Saturday Challenges and TLC207
I had a card in mind when I made this one - I was going to send it to a friend's son, but now it's made, I don't think it's really suitable for a young-un!! Anyway, I used the sketch from the Sketch Saturday Challenge, and used the challenge from BasicGrey Challenges which is to use two different ranges of their papers - I used Strawberry Jam - Lollipop Shoppe and the Sugared papers. Hope I've interpreted their challenge correctly! I also incorporated todays Splitcoast Challenge TLC207 which is "cut it out" which is exactly what I've done with my latest buy from Stampin' Up - Loads of Love (and accessories) - great set, wish I'd bought it ages ago! I was going to add some more detail to the card, but decided not to if it was going to be for a boy, but now it isn't, I might go and tart it up a bit!!
Stamps used: Loads of Love Stampin' Up
Inks used: brown stazon
Colouring method: n/a
Cardstock used: basicgrey
Other Embellishments: eyelets
Tools: crop-a-dile, guillotine, creative memories circles
Just thought I'd share this with you all, too - my little boy obviously enjoyed the snow, and wanted to replicate the scene in our utility room!! I dread to think what will happen if there's flooding next!!!

Cupcake Craft Challenge - Make a Scene
Here's my DT card for this weeks Cupcake Craft Challenges which this week is to "make a scene". To be honest, this stumped me a bit, other than kicking, screaming and throwing things about (lol), wasn't sure what I was going to do. Anyway, I decided to go for the A Tree for All Seasons SU set, stamped on acetate with stazon, then stamped again on various different cardstock and papers, cut out and stuck onto the acetate. I then made the card blank from a piece of blue, and cut out the apertures with my nesties, which was a lot easier than I was expecting! I wanted to decorate the front of the card a bit more, but this card took me two days (in and out of the craft room at any given opportunity without the kids help!), so it didn't get tarted up as much as I'd have like.
Stamps used: A Tree for all Seasons, Circle of Friendship, stitching stamp
Inks used: stazon - brown, blue, green
Colouring method: n/a
Cardstock used: various bits and pieces
Other Embellishments: SU buttons and thread
Tools: nesties, scissors and patience!
