Penny Black Saturday Challenge - no patterned paper

I stole 30 mins for myself at 10.30 last night, and came up with a quick card for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The challenge is to use no patterned paper, so I used this silver paper that I got from the paper box the other day, along with some red gem things, some silver cord and decorated the watercoloured images with white glitter flock.

The Stampin' Up 20% discount on textured cardstock ends today, so if you need some, then get your orders in quick - email me for more details (see right hand side)

Stamps used: penny black

all purple and pink!

Hi everyone, I haven't had much time for crafting this week, but manage to have made 3 cards this afternoon.
The first card has been made for this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge which this week (as you can tell!) is lilac. I used some flowers that I made from fimo, along with ribbon and mulberry paper, a tag and some gems. It's going straight into the post to a friend who's fave colour used to be purple (when we were at school), so I expect it'll make her giggle!!

This second card has been made for a little girl who's 6 (obviously), but I have no challenge to enter it into, but I just had to have a go with my new Hello Kitty dies!

This last card has been made for two challenges - Penny Black Saturday Challenge which this week is funky christmas and also the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge which is a great sketch. I coloured the image with sakura stardust, so it's lovely and shimmery, but hasn't really come out in the pic. I also used my new sizzix snowflake die and my cuttlebug die too.

Forever Friends Challenge Blog

I've made a quick card for this weeks Forever Friends Challenge. I couldn't bring myself to crop the photo out of the photo if you get what I mean - it's such a nice pic of the kids!! Anyway, back to the card, I made it using ff papers and stickers, with some ribbon - like I said, very quick, but I like it! Ooooh - I nearly forgot - I used my new nesties - their first outing, just need some time on my own to play with them now!!
I think the card could do with some tarting up - I'll maybe do this tomorrow. Click on the pic for a closer look.

Daring Cardmakers, Cupcake Challenge & Lots To Do

This weeks challenger over on Daring Cardmakers this week is "Cafe Chic!" so I decided to get my fimo out this morning to make a few embellies!! I first had fimo when I was about 12 (22 years ago) and I still have some of my original fimo - it's a bit crumbly at first, but once you have it warmed up, it's as good as the stuff I bought 6 months ago!!
I used a shimmery card blank, some handmade paper (lakeland) and a quotation that fits in with the Lots To Do challenge which is "quotations".

I also used more fimo to make some sweets for the Cupcake Craft Challenges. This didn't turn out exactly as i had planned, because when making the sweets I didn't really plan what I'd do with them, and with them being so "lumpy", I wish after I'd made holes in them and used them to thread on wire or something! Never mind, it's done now! Hope you like them.

Forever Friends Challenge Blog

Here's my very first entry for the Forever Friends Challenge Blog. I can't believe it's been going for about a month now and I've never even heard of it before yesterday!! Anyway, I used a deckled edge card blank, with some ff paper, circles cut with my creative memories circles (don't have the nesties!!), added some more paper strip and 2 stars. A very quick card - took me all of about 20 mins to make! (A bit rushed for time again today!)
Stamps used: n/a
Inks used: Orchid versa
Paper used: forever friends
Other Embellishments: chipboard stars, inked up and covered with UTEE

Cuttlebug and SC203 challenges

I've made two cards, the first is for Challenge SC203 over on SCS and the second card is for Cuttlebug Challenge which is one that I've not entered before. The cuttlebug challenge is to use crayon resist technique where you emboss a piece of card, then go over it with crayon and then use ink over that (I think!). I then used my embossing pen to just silver emboss the single bird!
For the first card I used my sanded stamp to make the backing piece, then embossed a piece of darker with the swiss dots. I used the tree for all seasons, embellished with some glitter glue.
Stamps used: A tree for all seasons, sanded
Inks used: close to cocoa, bashful blue
Colouring method: crayon resist
Cardstock used: bashful blue and dark blue, and tim holtz distress inks
Other Embellishments: cuttlebug die slider, embossed with UTEE

Daring Cardmakers - Birds, birds, birds

My mum went shopping yesterday and bought me a little strip of 3d stickers from the £shop. It's not something I'd normally buy, but she thought of me, so thought I'd better come up with something with them, and I was actually quite pleased with the results - they made 6 cards, and one of them has a bird, so ideal for the Daring Cardmakers challenge!! Click on the pics for closer views!

Cardstock used: red and green from stash, plus handmade paper from stash
Other Embellishments: stickers from the pound shop and some peel-offs!

Elzybells Challenge - Sketch

Here's a quick card I made for the Elzybells Challenge. I used a waterbrush with some distress ink pads to colour the image and when i'd done that I realised they came out all shimmery - the last time I used that brush pen was when I used my (fake) twinkling h2o's!! It has given the image a really nice effect, but you can't see it if the pic! I embossed the cardstock with a cuttlebug folder and cut out two smaller pieces to use as embellishments. Also used the scallop and circle Stampin' Up punches with the circle of friendship stamp. Click the pic for a closer view!
Stamps used: Elzybells, Circle of Friendship (Stampin' Up)
Inks used: Stampin' Up - grey and almost aubergine
Colouring method: distress inks
Cardstock used: Stampin' Up Soft Subtles - pretty in pink, pale plum and perfect plum
Other Embellishments: Bow

Crafty Monkeys, One Stop & ABC Challenges

Here are some pics of what we got up to yesterday, and it's just perfect for entering into the Crafty Monkeys challenge. The kids made coconut ice mice, and bryony made this card with cupcakes - both for their Nan's birthday (today).

I've made this altered tea box, and I guess it could be entered into the ABC Challenge because once I had the box painted, it didn't actually take long to put the papers and die cut letters and punched flowers on! Hope it counts, even though it's not a card!!!
Ooh - just realised it fits in with the One Stop Craft Challenge which this week is Pretty Petals - check out their blog for more info!
Oh, I nearly forgot - I'm really pleased with my first ever attempt at making truffles! And they taste GORGEOUS!!! yum, we, I mean my mum, will enjoy these later!!!

Here's my card that I've just made for 2 challenges - Sketch Saturday and Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I loved doing this one - I used various blue card stock and also some fabric meshy paper stuff. I stamped and embossed snowflakes over a piece of pale blue, and watercoloured the PB image. I'm going to add some glitter to the image, just forgot to do it just now!

Stamp Something Sketch Challenge

Here's a card made while hubby has taken over the tv!! It's for the Stamp Something Challenge and this week is a sketch, which is great - simple but effective (I think). I used papermania papers and the holly critters PB stamps, watercoloured with pencils, and added 3d paint in gold for the dots, and sizzix photo corners. Oh, and the pics are on cuttlebug stamp die cuts! (Not a nestie in sight for a change!!!) Click on the photo for a better look!

Cute Card Thursday

Here's another quick make for this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge which this week is to use red and green. I covered the snowman with white flowersoft, and then decided to add some red glitter flock to the hat. It has gone a bit wrong - the flock went everywhere, including on his face, but I may be able to sort this out when it is completely dry - not sure - does anyone else have problems using flock - I just find that it leaves a covering over everything - with or without glue!!

Daring, Stamp Somthing & My Time to Craft

I grabbed half hour today to make a quick card, and managed to make it fit into 3 challenges - Stamp Something which is Simple Somethings - keep it to one layer, My Time To Craft which is Snowmen and Daring Cardmakers which is sparkle and bling. I added glitter to the ribbon and the snowman's bobble hat! I was going to cover him in glitter completely, but thought it may be too much!
I coloured him with marvy pens.

ABC Challenge, Kaboodle, Magnolia vs Stampavie

I've made this card, and seeing as I have been so short of crafting lately, I've managed to make it to fit into 3 challenges - ABC Challenge which is P is for Pink, Kaboodle Doodles Challenge which is to use buttons or bling - i've made some buttons by using some Kaboodle downloads (stitched up), mounted the button shapes onto card and added. I forgot to add the bling - i will go back and do this later! and the Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge which is to keep it clean and simple - no more than 3 colours.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Sentiment Only!

I've made this shaker card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which this week is to make a card with a PB sentiment (not image!). I think I've got that right, so I've made a shaker card using some DaisyD's papers, and a holly critters sentiment.

My Time to Craft - Coffee & Cream

I'm entering this card into this weeks My Time To Craft challenge and the challenge is to use Coffee and Cream.
I used shiny coffee and cream cardstock to come up with this one, with my paisley cuttlebug dies, some ribbon, and the thank you stamped and embossed with chocolate scented embossing powder - yum, this was a really enjoyable challenge!!!

Crafty Monkeys Challenge

Here's a card that my daughter made for a birthday party today. I actually made the "4" base card, and she then decorated it. This is about all the crafting I've done all week, roll on tomorrow - maybe I'll get some done then!!
