Papertake Weekly - Sketch

Here's a card that I've made for this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge
Someone told me today that it was the last day for posting 2nd class, so seeing as I'd bought all my 2nd class stamps ages ago, but not bothered to make any cards, I thought I'd better get started. I moved all my xmas stuff up from my craft room to my lounge, and what a mistake that was - this is what happened next!!!...

yep - the kids took over!!!

Friday Sketchers & others...

Here's a card that I've made using the sketch on Friday Sketchers. I've used it to make a 40th birthday card for my hubbie... I got my wire and pliers out to make the "40", and used my core'dinations for the first time too! This card was me doing some doodling with the new circle circus stamp set from SU, plus various ink pads!
This is my 2nd xmas card - a quick attempt made just because I really need to pull my finger out and get making them!!
Oh, and here's a glass vase that I made...
and this is how it started - I used brown stringers, red frit and pieces of black, white and brown glass to make the piece of glass, then slumped it into the vase...

Hope you like,

mum's 70th

Here's my mum's 70th card. Just lately i've had my brother's 40th, mum's 70th, mum-in-law's and now I've got to get started on my husbands' 40th (which is this weekend!!) Does anyone have any ideas to get me started???

Random Cards

I haven't had much time lately to make many cards (as you may have noticed), and now December is here and all I seem to be doing is making new baby and birthday cards - I haven't even started my Christmas ones yet!!!

I'm in a Hello Kitty mood...

I've managed to get a couple of hours in my craft room (I was meant to be sorting it out but kind of got side-tracked!!).
Anyway, this first card has been made with the inspiration from
Papertake Weekly Challenge which is to use black, white and one other colour.

This card has been made using the sketch from Sketch Saturday and I also added an embossed panel, so that fits in with the ABC Challenge which is E for Embossing!

It's been a while...

OK so I know it's been absolutely AGES since I put anything on here, but I've had to do a card for my brother's upcoming 40th birthday, and I needed some inspiration ...
so I opted for the BasicGrey Challenges which is Embossing as their challenge. While I was embossing a piece of BG grey sanded I managed to miss a strip down the side which I then covered over using a couple of pieces of ribbon, so what better 2nd challenge than the Stamp With Us challenge which is to use no patterened paper, 2 ribbons and 2 stamps. I cut out the "40" from some mount board, and then used 2 SU stamps - In the stars, the star and "a wish for you". I then utee'd the 40.
Stamps Used: Stampin' Up In the stars
Inks used: silver
Colouring method: n/a
Cardstock used: BasicGrey and misc
Other Embellishments: star brads
Tools: Bigshot and alphabet dies

Calorie-free chocolate fix (not really!)

I couldn't resist buying the new calorie-free chocolate fix range from craftwork cards - it's just gorgeous, so I thought I'd make this little card with choccy bar for my friend who had her baby last week and is now back in hospital with complications. Just a little something to cheer her up a bit.

Cuttlebug Father's Day Card

Oops I nearly forgot - this one's for this weeks Cuttlebug Challenge, can't really see the embossed bit on this photo though - sorry!

Father's Day Cards

I've been busy making cards for Father's Day as I've had some requests for friends wanting cards, not for any challenges, just because!! I bought a pack of RL rub-ons with the lighthouse theme, and used various cardstock, papers and my elzybell stamp. Click on the pics for a closer look. The 4th and 6th cards are large - A5 size.
P.S. The top one is going to my Dad!

Crafty Creations, Sketch Saturday and Jewellery Challenges

Well, I finally managed to get into my craft room - my Crafty Creations DT duties finally got the better of me, so thought it best to make an entry for this weeks challenge which is "Purple". I also used the sketch from Sketch Saturday.

I've also made this wire ring ...

for this fortnights Jewellery Challenge, which unfortunately is also the last one for this blog due to poor takers of challenges - ahhh, sad - I'll miss it! So click on the link and post your entry - let's try and keep the jewellery challenge blog going...

and finally, a bracelet that I made this morning that I thought I'd share with you...

Hope you like!

blogging holidays!

Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted anything for AGES, but life seems to be rushing by so quickly and I haven't even set foot in my craft room for nearly a month! I'm still a Stampin' Up demo, so if you want to order anything I'm still around, but what with work, this gorgeous sun etc etc I'm putting my blogging on the back seat for a few more weeks - hope to catch up with you all again soon (probably when it next rains!!)

Stamp With Us & Cupcake Challenges

I've had to make a card for my 22 yr old nephew who is stuck in hospital with various broken bones after a really bad motorbike accident last week, and thought this would cheer him up. I made it with the inspiration from 2 challenges - Stamp With Us and Cupcake Craft Challenges. How hard is it to make a card for a lad when he's stuck in hospital when most of the male cards usually involve vehicles or beer, or other things that he can't actually do right now! Oh well, off to see him now...
Stamps used: life's a breeze, sanded (stampin' up)
Inks used: real red, orange, blue (stampin' up)
Colouring method: stamped
Cardstock used: bold brights - stampin' up
Tools used: nesties, scissors

Cardstock used: textured bashful blue, naturals

Sketch Saturday & 4th Birthday!

I've had a really busy couple of days what with jewellery parties, stampin' up parties and my little boy's 4th birthday - here's his card that I made with the sketch from this weeks Sketch Saturday challenge!
Here's a pic of my little boy with his car cake, too (I made that, too!) We had such a nice day in the garden - it was so hot, it was lovely!
