more cards

Click on the pics for a better look...
This first one is supposed to be an Ipod (!!), made for our nephew's 13th birthday.

I've been itching to make another card from my large nesties, and this is a new stamp that I bought a few weeks ago and haven't had the chance to use it before now. I stamped it using my new chalk inks - first outing for them too!

This card is my DT make for the Crafty Creations challenge which this week is sweet and yummy! Another first for me on here too - my core-dinations cardstock! The cakes are stamped using the faux silk technique.

Sketch Saturday & Cute Card Thursday

I've made these two cards for two challenges -
Sketch Saturday (the top one) and Cute Card Thursday which is floral fantasies. They are both based on a card I made a while ago but my mum keeps threatening to take it and send, and I won't let her because I like it so much, so she's asked me to make a batch of similar design cards for her, so here's my first two!

Inks used: coral, pink passion, ruby red, certainly celery (all SU)
Colouring method: stamped

Penny Black Sketch Challenge

I've made this card for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is a great sketch. I used some red papers/cards from stash, cut using my new nesties (labels), martha stewart punch and embossing folder. I stamped the image onto whisper white and coloured using prismacolour pencils and sansodor.
Sentiment is from Stampin' Up - the stamp matching the oval punches. Some punched flowers with gems to finish. I took the pic while the glue on the flowers was still wet, so will re-take when it's dry!

Colouring method: prismacolour pencils & sansodor
Cardstock used: misc red and whisper white (SU)

Stampin' Up Workshop in Cullompton

Sorry for not posting on here for AGES - been really busy with life and stuff!
Anyway, had a great day yesterday at Dragon Fly in Cullompton - they hold regular classes and workshops and invited me over to show off the Stampin' Up products. Here are a few cards that I made to demo...

I was demonstrating the faux silk technique, and also using pastels onto the SU version of kraft cardstock (I was hoping this would also fit into the Papertake Weekly challenge!!). Click on the pics for a closer look!

Thanks to Karen for inviting me over, and to everyone else who was there, they were all so nice and friendly, look forward to seeing you again!

Sketch Saturday

Wow - I've found out about a technique that I just LOVE - it's stamping on tissue paper (with stazon) - I used a very pale blue, then scrunching it up and sticking it onto a piece of cardstock to give a textured effect. Although this is my first attempt, and I'm not overly pleased with my colouring, I think the effect is brilliant, and am sure to be doing this again in the very near future!! Oh, and I made this for todays Sketch Saturday sketch!
Stamps used: summer by the sea (Stampin' Up)
Inks used: stazon, markers
Cardstock used: Stampin' Up dp
Other Embellishments: SU ribbon
Tools: my new martha stewart punch!, gems
