A spoon full of sugar & Papertake Weekly Challenges

I've managed to grab some time to make two cards today - the first is for Papertake Weekly which this week is a sketch challenge by Dawny, and the second card is for A Spoon Full of Sugar which is to use sparkle and bling. I made both of these cards using Penny Black stamps, and some free papers from mags (last year!). For the bling challenge I used holographic snowflake peel-offs, as well as red glittery emb. powder for the greeting and I also used some sparkly flock on the stamped image for snow, but this doesn't come up well in the pic. I used prismacolour pencils with sansodor on Stampin' Up cardstock on both the stamped images.

Cupcake Craft Challenge - There's a hole ...

Hi everyone, there's a new challenge over on Cupcake Craft Challenges - this week it's my turn to set the challenge, which is ...
"There's a hole in my bucket..." so, I want people to make their card, atc or whatever with a hole in it - it could be an aperture card, a shaker card, anything that has a hole in it!!! I don't really mean for it to be a bucket - that's just the song!!! The winner of this weeks challenge will get a bag of Around the Block brads from me.
I made a shaker card using forever friends paper and some star confetti for the shakey bits! I used my cuttlebug die for the greeting, and made some flowers using my flower punch with gems.

Papertake Weekly, BasicGrey & My Time to Craft

I received a little box of Stampin' Up goodies today - the scallop punch (yippee - got one at last!!!), some paperstock, the sanded stamp and some other bits and pieces. I really love the sanded stamp - it really turns plain pieces of cardstock into effective backing - I used it this morning to make the following cards:

The first one is for the Papertake Weekly challenge which is "Frightful but Delightful" and also the My Time To Craft challenge which is "Personalise it", so I've made a halloween card for a party that my kids are going to on 31st Oct! I used the sanded stamp to stamp close to cocoa onto the pumpkin pie cardstock.

I've used my sanded stamp again for this card, which is for the BasicGrey Challenges and this week the challenge is to use Stitching. I used the Sanded stamp to stamp and emboss the design in silver onto the black basecard.
Click on the pics to have a better look - hope you like!
Don't forget to check out my blog candy - I'm almost there, now - won't be long!!! Click here for blog candy.

Also, my offer on delivery with Stampin' Up finishes on 31st October - so make the most of it now!!! Click here.

Crafty Creations Challenge 23 - Dogs and Puppies

Here's my creation for the Crafty Creations challenge which this week is Dogs and Puppies. I've made it for a friend who is going to have an operation soon, and didn't think "get well soon" was appropriate.
Steph is offering 4 sets of earrings as the prize for one lucky person in this weeks challenge. Click on the link to check it out!

Daring Cardmakers & Friday Sketchers Challenges

I've just done a quick make while little-un is having a quick nap, and I've done this for two challenges - Friday Sketchers which is obviously a sketch, and Daring Cardmakers whose challenge is "Paint the Town ...". I used a SU stamp set that I've had for ages and never used (yes another one!!), so am pleased to have made good use of it. I stamped the fish over white paper with versamark, embossed with white powder, then painted with my paints (like Twinkling H2O's) with a water brush. I then did two extra fish and painted them too. Added some silver sticky paper to go behind, some organza ribbon and small circle punchies, and the Best Fishes from my sizzix alphabet (sorry, forgotten the name)!!

BasicGrey, Papertake Weekly & ABC Challenges

I've made this card for 3 challenges - BasicGrey Challenges, using Stella Ruby and other BG cardstock, ABC Challenge which is M is for Male, and the Papertake Weekly challenge which is a fabulous sketch by Katharina. I used a RL rub-on (I'm never quite sure what to do for male cards!), my nesties, some vellum, sizzix die corners, some brads and a stamped greeting. A fairly simple card, but quite effective, I think!

Cute Card Thursday, My Time to Craft and Caardvarks

I've been really stuck for ideas with all these "autumn" themes, and also halloween - I just don't have a need for halloween cards, and that means I don't have much stash for these cards, but I've managed to come up with this card (it looks better in the flesh than in the pic), for 3 challenges - the Cute Card Thursday challenge which is "Autumn", the My Time To Craft challenge which this week is "get doodling" (I've doodled around the edges!), and the Caardvarks challenge which is "Scoring". I only have a really basic scoring board, so I scored the background paper - not sure if you can see this in the pic. I used a set of stamps from Stampin' Up (that I forgot I had), which happen to have a pumpkin option to use in the window (I bought the set because I liked the window and the interchangable bits to put in the window!!!). I used (for the very first time) my machine that prints greetings - I can't remember what it's called!!!
I used chalks to do all the colouring, hope you like! Probably the most basic card I've ever made!

A spoon full of sugar Challenge 21 - Lim's Sketch

I managed to sneak off for an hour this afternoon, and managed to make this card for the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge. It's a great sketch this week by Lim. I used some papermania papers, some pink card and paper from stash cut using my scallop scissors, but this would have been much easier and straighter if I had a scallop punch (like the new Stampin Up one - will have to start writing my xmas list!), my great nesties, a sizzix corner die with the pink card, and some SU dazzling diamonds - these are fantastic!! I added some brads, and some forever friends peel offs to go with the stamped image, watercoloured with my pencils. I really enjoyed making this card and am quite pleased with the results!!

Friday Sketchers Challenge

Here's my entry for this weeks Friday Sketchers challenge. I made the sketch shapes at each side to be the opening of the card. I used my Stampendous Tier of Treats stamp, coloured with marvy pens, added a buckle made of the same cardstock as the base card, added a greeting and some gems.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 9 - Turn Up The Heat

Over on Cupcake Craft Challenges this weeks challenge is Turn Up The Heat.
Jennifer is hosting this weeks challenge and here's what she has to say about it "This week it is my turn to choose a topic and after lots of thought I decided to opt for "Turn Up The Heat". I love playing with heat tools such as encaustic tools and embossing guns so I thought this would make a fun challenge. You can use any form of heat or hot colours on your creations.
I can't wait to see all your wonderful work - I hope you enjoy the challenge."

Daring Cardmakers & Secret Crafter Saturday Challenges

I've made this card to fulfil 2 challenges - the first is Daring Cardmakers whose theme is "BRIGHT" and the second one is Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge whose challenge is a great sketch. I've turned the sketch around and used it to come up with this card. My dad has been invited to celebrate his friends' divorce, so I offered to make a card!! I just hope they like it!! I used the sizzix die to make the "sign", and some letter stamps, some cardstock, sizzix brackets and Stampin' Up stamps for the Cheers to you bit. Oh, and some star eyelets.

Cute Card Thursday & Spoon Full of Sugar Challenges

Todays card has been made for two challenges - Cute Card Thursday and A Spoon Full of Sugar. CCT's challenge is to use ribbons and buttons, and SFS challenge is to use pink and green. I bought myself a couple of new stamps this week - one of them being this Elzybells stamp which I love. I embossed some pink vellum, added some ribbon (from Vicky), a ribbon and some buttons and a stamped greeting.

Papertake Weekly *No Stamping* & ABC Challenges

I received a lovely bundle of goodies from Vicky yesterday, so I was itching to get using them. I've made this card for the Papertake Weekly challenge which was to either make a 1st card, or to make a card with No Stamping. So, obviously, I went for the No Stamping option. I bought this die and have hardly used it - it's quite detailed, but I love the results! I added some papers, embossed with my new cuttlebug folder, and some flowers and lace from Vicky - this also fits in with the ABC Challenge which this week is L for Lace.

Here's my DT make for the challenge ...

I used papermania papers, some blue vellum, my nestabilities and a penny black stamped image (coloured using my prismacolours and sansodor), the flowers I made myself with my great flower punch, and added a SU greeting.

Sunday 5 October 2008

2 cards, 4 challenges!!

This first card is for the following challenges: the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and BasicGrey Challenges. I used the sketch from secret crafter (sorry Jane, I copied your idea with the eyelets!!), using BasicGrey "Infuse" paper whose challenge is scallops - I used my nesties to make a scalloped oval and coloured the image with my SU ink pads and chalk. I also added punched flowers under the eyelets.
I'm not sure about the greeting - I've only placed it on so far because I might change my mind and add a smaller greeting - what do you think??!!

This second card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and the Daring Cardmakers. I used some Making Memories cardstock, a Penny Black image (their challenge is a sketch this week), and the Daring Cardmakers is also scallops - I made my own version of Threading water using my scallop scissors (would have been easier with the new Stampin' Up scallop edge punch), and made the holes with my crop-a-dile. I made the flowers with my new punch - one of the best punches I now own! Added a SU greeting and some gems.

2 cards, 3 challenges!

I've made two cards today - one for the SBS18 Challenges - which is Oktoberfest, I used a SU mini card and stamped the beer image onto some ps, used the cuttlebug to emboss some backing paper and mounted that onto some su brown card.
The other card is for 2 challenges - Sketch Saturday and Our Creative Corner which is Bling on the Bling.
I used some adhesive shiny paper (that I bought ages ago and never used) to mount on the card, and also to use with the big shot to cut the letters and number. I added some flowery vellum, raffia and a stamped tilda image coloured with paints that are a cheap version of twinkling h2o's and my sakura stardust pens. The card is really very very sparkly, but it hasn't come out in the photo. I'm sure Anna will love it's sparklyness anyway!!!
